The 2024 Moose Valuable Skier Award - Now Accepting Nominations

Being fast is not the most important thing in life!

We are pleased to open the nomination portal for the 2024 Moose Valuable Skier Award. The MVS Award is given annually to two Minnesota high school skiers who exemplify the values of sportsmanship, humility, empowerment, and integrity. Athletes must be nominated by a teammate, coach, or a community member/volunteer. We encourage you to think about who in your community or on your team lives out these values and let us know! Nominate a skier via our nomination page by March 24th.

While parents might have unique insights into their child’s impact on their team, nominations from a coach, teammate, or unrelated community member will carry more weight than that of a parent for their own child.

The two winners will each receive* a pair of race-caliber Madshus skis (skate or classic) chosen specifically for the award recipient and a pair of boots they pick out from Finn Sisu! This year, the winners also will receive a pair of 187cm Salomon S/race skate skis for their high school team.

*Equipment is chosen for the award recipient but given to the high school team to comply with MSHSL rules. Upon graduation, we leave it up to the coach to decide if the equipment goes with the skier or stays with the team.
