Adele Haeg and Siri Stolen Named as the 2024 Moose Valuable Skiers

We are pleased to announce the two winners of this year’s Moose Valuable Skier Award: Adele Haeg of DeLaSalle High School and Siri Stolen of Irondale. These two Minnesota high school skiers were nominated by their community and chosen for living out the Moose Nordic ideals of sportsmanship, humility, empowerment, and integrity. Each of these skiers will receive a pair of high-end racing skis from Madshus, boots of their choosing from Finn Sisu, and a pair of Salomon skate skis for their high school’s team. Adele was nominated for her outstanding leadership on DeLaSalle’s new nordic team, her enthusiasm in celebrating and cheering for all those around her, and her dedication to the improvement. One of her teammate wrote, “Adele exhibits a genuine love of the sport that has been contagious to our developing team. Delasalle only got its own Nordic team in 2021, and Adele, now a senior, has been at the core of it for the entire time. Her commitment is infectious to teammates and friends, and I can confidently say our team has only reached its current success with her leadership.”

Siri was selected for her impact on building a positive team culture, her integrity to her own ideals about why she skis, and her selflessness is supporting those around her. Her nomination said, “While Siri can and has delivered awesome results, she is just as focused on the people she is achieving those results with and around. Materially, Siri never hesitates to share skis and poles with teammates who don't have access to high-end equipment. In fact, not just teammates! After finishing the Korteloppet this winter, Siri handed off her boots to a panicked stranger who had left hers in the car; she walked to the finishing tent in her socks.”
