2023 MVS nominations accepted through April 23
We’re excited to announce the return of the MVS award. This award will be presented to a high school nordic skier from Minnesota who lives out these four values of Moose Nordic:
Sportsmanship - Being a true sportsman on and off the trail. Respecting both teammates and competitors and striving to build community in the larger skiing community.
Humility - It’s hard to humiliate a humble person.
Empowerment - When we empower those around us we build a sense of community. Whether this be through an encouraging word, a selfless act, or simply listening, we all have the ability to empower those around us and help others reach new heights.
Integrity - While great performances on the ski trails are wonderful, remaining true to your values in the midst of success is important both to you and those around you.
Do you know a skier who exemplifies these values and has an outsized impact on their team? Please send an 100-700 word essay on why you believe that person should be this year’s Moose Valuable Skier. Nominations are accepted from teammates, coaches, volunteers, or community members. We hope this nomination process especially encourages athletes to look beyond themselves and consider others’ unique contributions to their community. Head to our Nominate Now page to submit your nomination by April 23rd. The MVS award will be given to one high school male athlete and one high school female athlete. Madshus and Finn Sisu have partnered with Moose Nordic to award a pair of racing skis and boots to help the MVS recipients on their skiing journeys!
